i have been searching in guru and i couldnt find how it really works. i just started playing gw like a month ago and i recently saw a thread here about prediction. i made a acct for that but have no clue what to do with all these name of people in 1v1 and gvg. can someone give me any tips on..maybe how i can research these people/guild? or simply how does prediction works?

Every month, Guild Wars has an automated tournament (mATs). These are open for the best players in Hero Battles, and Guild versus Guild. You can make money by predicting who will win each month, which usually earns you around 100-150k a month (per game account) - without any real effort on your part.

How to sign up:
Log in to Guild Wars, and take your "main" character (the character you play most) to Great Temple of Balthazar, or your Guild Hall. Talk to Tolkano there, and register your account. Remember, only the character that you registered can pick up your rewards later!

Go to the Xunlai Tournament House, and register there. This is where you will make the predictions.

How does it work?
Each month, new predictions can be made - usually around the last weekend of the month. You can pick up the points you've received in any major city (Lions Arch, Kamadan, Kaineng Center or Great Temple of Balthazar) from the person with a [Xunlai Tourmanet Agent] tag - he will be dressed like Balthazar. Points will be distributed after each montly update - which is usually around the second week of the month. If this NPC gives you a link to a website, you either received no points, already collected them, used to wrong character to talk to them, or are simply too early to get the points.

These points can then be used to receive Zaishen Keys from Tolkano - the person you talked to earlier to register a character. Select "Buy a Zaishen Key with Tourmanent Reward Points" until you get no more of them. One zaishen key costs you 5 reward points, and each zKey is also worth 5k. So the number of points you get from the [Xunlai Tournament Agent] is the amount of platinum you've received this month.

As for knowing who will win, there are usually threads in the Guild versus Guild and Hero Battles subforums. For GvG, good bets are usually Rebel Rising, Whats Going On, Straight Outta Kamadan and so on - the major GvG guilds. You'll get to know them if you spend more time observing matches and reading forums.
